Board Opportunities
AASPIRES is currently seeking ONE passionate, mission-driven, and community-oriented professional to serve on our Executive Board. This is an exciting opportunity to support the current work AASPIRES is doing and to help shape the future of our vision and mission.
What We Are Looking For
Identifies as part of an underrepresented Asian American community.
Preference will be given to those from Southeast Asian, refugee, asylum seeking, and/or first-generation and/or low-income backgrounds.
Has a demonstrated commitment to advancing educational equity for underrepresented Asian American students.
Preferred, but not required, experience in advocacy work, community leadership, fundraising, higher education, nonprofit governance, storytelling pedagogy, S.T.E.A.M education, or youth development.
Possesses a willingness to contribute time, expertise, and networks to support the growth of AASPIRES.
Board Member Responsibilities
Provide strategic direction and facilitation of organizational goals and objectives.
Support all fundraising and development initiatives.
Serve as an ambassador for AASPIRES within personal and professional networks.
Attend at least 4 bi-monthly meetings of the Board per year, approximately once per quarter.
Serve a minimum 1-year term.
