Our Impact

Since recruiting our first pilot cohort in 2022, AASPIRES has demonstrated a powerful impact in cultivating academic exploration, expanding post-secondary opportunities, demystifying the college application process, and building personal fortitude for underrepresented Asian American students. We do this through providing each Scholar with regular one-on-one meetings that are grounded in culturally reverent college and career guidance pedagogies.

We have worked diligently to foster a community of critical and creative knowledge makers and knowledge holders who can effectively advocate for themselves and their communities through the utilization of academically informed and authentically crafted written and orated pieces that highlight the power of our shared humanity.

AASPIRES has found that providing personalized support earlier in a Scholar’s high school career results in smoother high school to college transitions, especially in regards to creative/critical writing skills, intellectual vitality, academic course selection, financial planning, and career exploration. AASPIRES Scholars are equipped with the confidence, tools, networks, and community support needed to effectively navigate educational pathways and achieve long-term academic, career, and social success.
