  • I am motivated to join AASPIRES because of my belief that every student deserves access to educational opportunities that can transform their future, and I want to help level the playing field by providing guidance, mentorship, and practical resources. Growing up as a Hmong American in an underserved community, I understand how limited resources, information, and representation can affect a student’s confidence—especially for Southeast Asian students who are often overlooked in broader conversations about educational equity. During my time as an admissions counselor, I saw how many talented and driven students from underserved communities faced barriers not because of a lack of ability, but because they lacked the guidance needed to navigate a complex and unfamiliar application process.

My mentors and communities played a meaningful role in my own journey by affirming my identity and showing me what was possible. Their support grounded me, and I want to offer that same clarity, encouragement, and representation to other students. Seeing students grow more confident and secure in their educational goals motivates me every day, and I remain committed to helping them present their strongest, most authentic selves and access the opportunities they deserve.
